Saccharic acid
Saccharic acid is a competitive β-glucuronidase inhibitor, effectively reducing the hydrolysis of specific glucuronide substrates in vitro, such as in frozen-thawed kidney tissue assays. It is a useful research tool for studying glucuronidase activity, though it does not affect liver regeneration or infant growth in vivo.
