Anti - Motilin

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

The 14-aa human sequence is 100% conserved in porcine, 92% in equine, monkey, 85% in sheep and rabbit and 78% in chicken, feline and canine motilin. Control peptide, because of its small size (2-3kD), is not recommended for Western. It should be used in ELISA or antibody blocking experiments (use 5-10 ug of control peptide per 1 ug of aff pure IgG or 1 ul of antiserum) to demonstrate antibody specificity/.. Full length motilin is also available for various studies.
