HSPB1 (Human) ELISA Kit
Small Heat Shock Protein Beta-1 (HSPB1, HSP27) is a chaperone protein that belongs to the family of heat shock proteins. It is ubiquitously expressed in multiple cells. One of the main functions of HSPB1 is to promote cell survival during heat and stress conditions. Additional functions include regulation of actin and intermediate filament dynamics, cell differentiation, inhibit oxidation and apoptosis. HSPB1 also plays a critical role in cancer biology. Increased expression of HSPB1 is associated with a variety of cancers such as breast, endometrial, liver, gastric, ovarian cancer, and leukemia. HSPB1 contributes to the pathophysiology of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington's disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth type IIF disease, and William’s syndrome, thus making it a promising therapeutic target. BioVision’s HSPB1 (Human) ELISA kit quantitatively measures HSPB1 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added to the plate, and post-incubation any unattached conjugates are washed off by Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of HSPB1 in the sample or standard.
