It also effectively inhibits foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) replication with an EC50 of 6.4 μM. Therefore it is a potent antiviral that targets both viral and host factors, making it a promising option for HCV therapy and a potential prophylactic or therapeutic agent against FMDV outbreaks.
