1,2,6-Hexanetriol, a polyol, is an intermediate for wetting agents, solvents, and pharmaceuticals with excellent moisturizing property. 1,2,6-Hexanetriol is a humectant and plasticizer for hydrophilic films. 1,2,6-Hexanetriol has no significant toxicity in rats, rabbits, and dogs via oral (16 mL/kg), intraperitoneal (10 g/kg) and intravenous (5.6 mL/kg) routes. 1,2,6-Hexanetriol can be used for the cosmetics and resin industries[1][2].
