8-Benzylthio-cAMP is a derivative of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) . It functions as a site-selective activator of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) . Compared to cyclic AMP, 8-Benzylthio-cAMP exhibits higher hydrolysis stability against phosphodiesterases (PDE) and increased membrane permeability. It is employed in research to investigate the role of cAMP in regulating cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
