14R (15S) -EET, an oxylipin and a metabolite of arachidonic acid, is produced through the oxidation of arachidonic acid by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoforms CYP2C8 and CYP2C9. At a concentration of 10 μM, 14R (15S) -EET causes relaxation in precontracted isolated bovine coronary arteries.
