Recombinant human IL-16 protein
Interleukin-16 (IL16) is an immunomodulatory cytokine, which induces lymphocyte migration, expression of proinflammatory IL-1beta, IL6 and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNFalpha), and modulates apoptosis. This protein is a pleiotropic cytokine that functions as a chemoattractant, a modulator of T cell activation, and an inhibitor of HIV replication. The signaling process of this cytokine is mediated by CD4. Also, several central nervous system diseases and may play a role in promoting inflammatory responses. Recombinant human IL16, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
