Zebrafish Sox3 Antibody / SRY-box 3
Sox3 is maternally deposited and is expressed in the neuroectoderm during early development. It acts as a transcriptional activator that promotes neural fate by regulating genes involved in progenitor cell maintenance and inhibiting premature neuronal differentiation. Sox3 also contributes to the development of the pituitary gland, sensory placodes, and hypothalamic structures. Due to its conservation across vertebrates, zebrafish Sox3 serves as a powerful model for studying neurogenesis, pluripotency, and transcriptional regulation during early embryonic development. It is also used to investigate mechanisms of cell fate decisions, stem cell biology, and congenital neurological disorders.
