Hot Box System, Single Flow Meter
The Hot Box System eliminates the risk of personnel and equipment contamination from radioactive gases. It effectively isolates labeling experiments, enabling you to restore complete functionality to your CO2 incubator. Traditional labeling experiments generate millions of contaminating counts, necessitating frequent incubator decontamination. Now, you can safely conduct [35S]-Met/Cys labeling experiments with significantly reduced time and risk. Use the Single Flow Meter version with pre-mixed gases from a single source or select the Dual Flow Meter for on-site mixing of two gases. If you already have a Modular Incubator Chamber (MIC-101) unit, you can use our Hot Box Conversion Kits (HMIC-3S, HMIC-3D) or purchase our Static and Exhaust Filter Set (HCS-2020) if you already have a flow meter as well as the MIC-101. How it works? - The Hot Box System is a fully enclosed environment designed to contain radioactive experiments, such as those using [35S]-Met/Cys, thus eliminating radioactive contamination of personnel and equipment outside of the system. Simply place your labeled tissue culture cells in the chamber, add a container with filtered water for humidity, attach a flow meter to the unit, flush for several minutes with the desired gas mixture in a ventilated biosafety cabinet, then seal the chamber and place in your 37 ̊C incubator. See the instruction sheet for detailed protocols.
