Xanthoascin
Xanthoascin (Compound 1) is a natural phenolic metabolite with strong anti-phytopathogenic activity. It is isolated from the solid fermentation product of the endophytic fungus Aspergillus sp. IFB-YXS, found in ginkgo leaves. Xanthoascin exhibits a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.3125 μg/mL against Clavibacter michiganense and shows moderate inhibitory activity against other pathogens (MIC = 5-20 μg/mL) . This compound can disrupt bacterial cell membrane permeability, leading to nucleic acid leakage.
