M-PEG-OH (MW 1000) serves as a macromolecular initiator, facilitating the synthesis of amphiphilic block copolymers. These copolymers are utilized to create nanoscale micelles for delivering active drugs. When hydrophobic anti-cancer agent Paclitaxel is encapsulated within these micelles, it demonstrates enhanced activity against cancer cells compared to free Paclitaxel. Additionally, it predominantly accumulates in tumor tissues, with only limited distribution in healthy organs.
