6-Bromo-1-hexanol

6-Bromo-1-hexanol contains both a terminal bromine and a hydroxyl group. The bromine serves as an excellent leaving group in nucleophilic substitution reactions. The hydroxyl group can be further derivatized or replaced by other reactive functional groups.
