O-11
O-11 is a myristic acid analog where oxygen replaces the methylene at carbon 11. It potently and selectively kills Trypanosoma brucei (LD50 <1 μM) by inhibiting myristate incorporation into the VSG GPI anchor, disrupting immune evasion. It shows minimal anti-fungal activity but minor inhibition of HIV-1 replication in T-cells.
