Kigamicin C

Kigamicins are antitumor antibiotics with selective cytotoxicity against nutrient-starved pancreatic cancer cells, such as PANC-1, and exhibit antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Kigamicin D demonstrates in vivo efficacy by suppressing pancreatic tumor growth in mouse models, potentially through inhibition of Akt activation under nutrient stress. These compounds also induce necrosis in human myeloma cells while sparing normal lymphocytes.
