Arginase-2 (ARG2) is a multifunctional regulator central to the regulation of arginine metabolism and nitric oxide synthesis outside the urea cycle. In addition to its hepatic effects, ARG2 affects innate and adaptive immune responses, negatively affecting the survival of activated CD4 (+) and CD8 (+) T cells.
