CE (20:3 (8Z,11Z,14Z) ) (20:3 (8Z,11Z,14Z) CE) is a cholesterol ester. It accumulates in the adrenal gland of rabbits fed a diet high in linolenic acid. Levels of cholesteryl homo-γ-linolenate are decreased and positively correlate with cognitive decline in HIV-infected humans.
