Human Cardiomyocytes

Human cardiomyocytes are derived from ventricles that have been dissociated into single cells and purified in culture. Human cardiomyocytes are from a single donor. Human cardiomyocytes may be used for various types of in vitro, in vivo, or transplantation. "Cardiac muscle, a unique type of striated muscle in the human heart, is composed of single Cardiac Myocytes (HCM). Be-cause they are responsible for the myo-genic contraction of the whole cardiac muscle, Cardiac Myocytes are the most physically energetic cells in the body. AcceGen Human Cardiac Myocytes are produced at AcceGen's cell culture fa-cility from normal human ventricle tissue of the adult heart. Unlike freshly isolated rod-shaped myocytes, AcceGen HCM are suitable for long-term experiments, as they are prepared according to a spe-cial protocol. Shortly after isolation, all AcceGen Human Cardiac Myocytes are cryo-preserved at assage 2 (P2) using AcceGen's proprietary serum-free freezing medium, Cryo-SFM. Each cryo vial contains more than 500,000 viable cells after thawing. Proliferating cell cultures are made from 500,000 cryopreserved cells that have been thawed and cultured for three days at AcceGen."
