(−) -Voacangarine is an indole alkaloid, which exhibits cytotoxic effects against cancer cells HepG2, A375, MDA-MB-231, SH-SY5Y, and CT26 with IC50 of 5~20 mg/mL. (−) -Voacangarine inhibits the cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae wildtype and repair-deficient mutants[1][2].
