Rat Pulmonary Alveolar Epithelial Cells
Pulmonary alveolar epithelial cells (PAEpiC) comprised of alveolar type I and type II epithelial cells, line more than 99% of the internal surface area of the lung. Type I cells are large squamous cells whose thin cytoplasmic extensions cover >95%. Rat Pulmonary alveolar epithelial cells are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory Sprague–Dawley (SD). They are grown in T75 tissue culture flasks pre-coated with 0.2% gelatin for 1 hour and incubated in Culture Complete Growth Medium.
