Anti-CDX2
Caudal Type Homeobox 2 or CDX2 is encoded by the CDX2 gene. CDX2 is an essential regulator of intestine-specific genes involved in cell growth and differentiation. It is expressed in the nuclei of intestinal epithelial cells and it is also involved in early embryonic development of the intestinal tract. Mutations on the CDX2 gene are associated with intestinal inflammation and tumorigenesis as well as diseases including bladder adenocarcinoma and cystic teratoma. As a tool used in diagnostic surgical pathology, CDX2 is useful as a biomarker for intestinal cancer, specifically for colorectal differentiation in the gastrointestinal tract.
