Anti-CD2
CD2 is found as a surface antigen found on all peripheral blood T-cells and the majority of NK cells. It interacts with lymphocyte function-associated antigen (LFA-3/CD58) on antigen presenting cells to optimize immune recognition or CD48/BCM1 in rodents to mediate adhesion between T-cells and other cell types. CD2 also acts as a co-stimulatory molecule on T and NK cells and its cytoplasmic domain is implicated in the signaling function. As a specific marker for T and NK cells which is also expressed by the great majority of T cell lymphomas and leukaemias, CD2 can be used to distinguish these conditions from B cell neoplasms.
