Anti-CD117
Encoded by the KIT gene, the CD117 antigen is also known as c-Kit and stem cell factor receptor (SCFR). The CD117 antigen is expressed primarily on hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells and neural crest-derived melanocytes. CD117 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein in the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family which functions in the regulation of cell survival and proliferation, hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, gametogenensis, mast cell development, migration and function, and in melanogenesis. Mutations with the KIT gene are associated with diseases such as gastrointestinal stromal tumor and piebaldism.
