Anti-PhosphoTyrosine (pY)

This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.

This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using phosphorylated tyrosine peptide coupled to agarose. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit IgG. Reactivity is specific for phosphotyrosine and minimal cross reactivity is observed against phosphothreonine or phosphoserine.

This affinity-purified antibody is suitable for use in ELISA, western blotting and immunoprecipitation assays. The antibody reacts specifically with phosphotyrosine and shows minimal reactivity by ELISA and western blotting with proteins containing phosphothreonine or phosphoserine residues. The antibody reacts with free phosphotyrosine, phosphotyrosine conjugated to carriers such as thyroglobulin or BSA, and detects the presence of phosphotyrosine in proteins of both unstimulated and stimulated cell lysates. Although not tested, this antibody is likely functional in RIA, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
