Designed for the detection of desmin, SensiStain Anti-Desmin Antibody is in ready-to-use format. Desmin (also known as skeletin), is a filament protein encoded by the DES gene. It is typically expressed in striated muscle cells and most smooth muscle cells. Desmin is used as a biomarker in cancers such as rhabdomyomas, leiomyosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyomas, and perivascular cells from skin glomus tumors, and is used to identify the myogenic characteristics of tumors
