Goat anti Rabbit IgG (Fc specific)
Product Specifications
Background
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgG molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal rabbit serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragments. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG in rabbit serum or other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of rabbit IgG from serum or plasma.
Host
Goat
Clone
Polyclonal
Source
Highly purified normal IgG isolated from pooled rabbit serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Assay Principle
Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl serum or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in 3 mm diameter center well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and serially diluted in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
Form
Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum; No preservative added Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled; Normal goat serum; No foreign proteins added; It is reconstituted by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20°C
Precautions
This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving Humans or animals.
This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
Storage Conditions
The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C; Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2); Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided; Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day; If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation; It will not affect the performance of the product
