Interleukin (IL) -13, a cytokine produced by T helper 2 (Th2) cells, is a powerful inhibitor of macrophage functions, including surface expression of CD14 and production of IL-1 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) -α. Interleukin (IL) -13 synergizes with IL-2 in regulating interferon-gamma synthesis . It may be critical in regulating inflammatory and immune responses .Mouse IL-13 shares 58% sequence identity with human protein and exhibits cross-species activity.IL-13 was first recognized for its effects on B cells and monocytes, where it upregulated class II expression, promoted IgE class switching and inhibited inflammatory cytokine production. It was also thought to be functionally redundant with IL-4.

Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

The recombinant mouse IL-13 protein consists of 118 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 12.7 kD.The apparent molecular mass of the mouse IL-13 is approximately 15-30 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized mouse IL-13 protein in the buffer which we provide not less than 100 µg/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
