E-selectin/CD62E Protein, a cell-surface glycoprotein, crucially mediates immunoadhesion by interacting with SELPLG/PSGL1 for the adhesion of neutrophils to cytokine-activated endothelium. It also potentially influences capillary morphogenesis and interacts with SELPLG/PSGL1 and PODXL2 through the sialyl Lewis X epitope, independently of SELPLG sulfation.
