Chickens were immunized with highly purified, pooled normal human IgM. After multiple immunizations in Freund’s adjuvant, eggs were collected and the IgY fraction prepared. This fraction was solid-phase absorbed to make it mu chain specific, immunoaffinity purified from a human IgM immunoabsorbant and conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate.
