Mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions through its affinity for HA, and possibly also through its affinity for other ligands such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) . Adhesion with HA plays an important role in cell migration, tumor growth and progression.
