20-Hydroxyecdysone (20E) is an important steroid hormone that controls embryonic development, molting, metamorphosis, and reproduction in members of the phylum Arthropoda. It acts through a heterodimeric receptor comprising the ecdysone receptor and the ultraspiracle proteins (USP).
