Nectin-2/CD112 protein has dual roles in T-cell signaling: as a costimulator with CD226, promoting proliferation and cytokine production, and as a coinhibitor with PVRIG, inhibiting proliferation. It also acts as a cell adhesion protein and a receptor for certain viruses.
