Rabbit anti Rat IgG2c (subclass specific)

The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc portion of the subclass IgG2c. It does not react with other subclasses of IgG, IgG/Fab fragments, IgM and IgA or any non-Ig protein in rat serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG2c in rat serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of rat IgG2c from serum or plasma.

Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.

Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized whole antiserum; No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity; Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled; Normal rabbit serum; No foreign proteins added; Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water
