The carrier has 4 perimeter rails, for each side of the Microplate, one Short Side rail has a Deep Groove or undercut to hold Plate skirt lip, the two Long side rails have shallow Grooves allowing Plates to snap into place, the last Short Side rail is beveled and has no Groove but has two small (0.25") ball-nose spring plungers to hold Plate in place, this last Short Side rail also has a Center thumb/set screw which can be used to Manually Clamp Plate after loading.
