HGPRT, Human (His)

HGPRT proteins play a key role in purine metabolism, promoting the conversion of guanine to guanosine monophosphate and hypoxanthine to inosine monophosphate. Through its enzymatic activity, HGPRT transfers the 5-phosphate ribosyl group from 5-phosphate ribose pyrophosphate to purine, making a significant contribution to the purine salvage pathway.
