Applications

WB

Dilution

Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 10mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed.

Form

Lyophilized

Function

Mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion (By similarity). Minor component of the myelin sheath. May be involved in completion and/or maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. {PubMed:21880773}.

Storage Conditions

Although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, the lyophilized product is best stored at or below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, product can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week but is best stored at or below -20°C for longer periods of time. Addition of a carrier protein (such as 0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended for long- term storage.

Specificity

Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein

Formulation

Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 50mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed.

Target Background

Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Given its localization, it is a prime target antigen of immune-mediated demyelination. MOG is involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. MOG is differentially expressed in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and in the temporal lobe from patients with schizophrenia.
