TTK (MPS-1) Kinase Assay Kit

TTK ((threonine and tyrosine kinase), also known as Monopolar Spindle 1 Kinase (MPS-1), is a dual specific kinase (tyrosine and serine/threonine) that plays an important role in the cell division cycle by regulating spindle assembly checkpoint during mitosis. High levels of this kinase can result in aneuploid tumors, and link to a poor prognosis in cancers like breast cancer. In addition, it plays a role in the drug resistance development. TTK is thus a potential target in cancer therapy. A number of inhibitors for TTK are under clinical trials, such as BAY 12-17389, however the search for more specific and less toxic compounds is still ongoing.
