CDY1, His-tag Recombinant
Human chromodomain protein Y-linked 1 (CDY1), also known as CDY and testis-specific chromodomain protein Y 1, GenBank Accession No. NM_170723, a.a. 2-90, with N-terminal His-tag, MW=11.7 kDa, expressed in anE. colicell expression system.
Product Specifications
Background
Chromodomain proteins are components of heterochromatin-like complexes and can act as gene repressors. CDY1 contains a chromodomain and a histone acetyltransferase catalytic domain. CDY1 has histone acetyltransferase activity, with a preference for histone H4. This protein is localized to the nucleus of late spermatids where histone hyperacetylation takes place. Histone hyperacetylation is thought to facilitate the transition in which protamines replace histones as the major DNA-packaging protein.
