CD68 Antibody

CD68 plays a possible role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells. [UniProt]

IHC testing of FFPE human tonsil and CD68 antibody (clone LAM34-1) . FFPE testing requires sections to be boiled in pH 9 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA for 10-20 minutes, followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes, prior to staining.
