OMG Antibody

Oligodendrocyte-myelin glycoprotein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OMG gene. This gene is mapped to 17q11-q12. OMG, like neurofibromin (NF1), has growth suppressive effects and downregulates mitogenic signaling pathways closely related to those influenced by neurofibromin. Overexpression of OMG alters mitogenic signaling in fibroblasts. Cells overexpressing OMG grow more slowly in serum compared to controls and show a partial G1 block upon cell cycle analysis.
