TRIM33 (C2) Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal
Rabbit polyclonal to TRIM33.Tripartite motif-containing protein 33 (TRIM33) is a nuclear protein localized in discrete nuclear dotsresembling nuclear bodies. TRIM33 acts as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, and promotes SMAD4ubiquitination, nuclear exclusion and degradation via the ubiquitin proteasome pathway. TRIM33 mayact as a transcriptional repressor of the TGF-beta/BMP signaling cascade. It is thought that TRIM33can monoubiquitinate SMAD4, which hampers its ability to form a stable complex with activatedSMAD2/3 resulting in inhibition of TGF-beta/BMP signaling cascade. TRIM33 plays a role in thecontrol of cell proliferation. Defects in TRIM33 are a cause of thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC) .
