ENG is a component of the transformincomplex and it binds TGFB1 and TGFB3 with high affinity. Mutations in this gene cause hereditaryhemorrhagic telangiectasia, also known as Osler-Rendu-Weber syndrome 1, an autosomal dominantmultisystemic vascular dysplasia.
