NEDD5 is required for the progression through mitosis. During anaphase, NEDD5 may be required for chromosome segregation and spindle elongation. NEDD5 plays a role inciliogenesis and collective cell movements. It may also play a role in the internalization of 2intracellular microbial pathogens, Listeria monocytogenes and Shigella flexneri.
