It binds to complexed or aggregated IgG andalso monomeric IgG. Contrary to III-A, FCGR3B is not capable of mediating antibody-dependentcytotoxicity and phagocytosis. It may serve as a trap for immune complexes in the peripheralcirculation which does not activate neutrophils.
