It is involved in the maturation of Asn-linkedoligosaccharides. MAN1A1 catalyzes the hydrolysis of the terminal (1-Greater than 2) -linked alpha-D-mannoseresidues in the oligo-mannose oligosaccharide Man (9) -GlcNAc (2) . It progressively trims alpha-1,2-linked mannose residues from Man (9) GlcNAc (2) to produce Man (5) GlcNAc (2) .
