Rabbit polyclonal to HAKAI.HAKAI is also known as Casitas B-lineage lymphoma-transforming sequence-like protein 1 (CBLL1), which is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase for the E-cadherin (CDH1) complex and mediates itsubiquitination, endocytosis, and degradation in the lysosomes. CDH1 is endocytosed as aconsequence of tyrosine phosphorylation and ubiquitination. HAKAI interacts with tyrosinephosphorylatedCDH1 and mediates this process. HAKAI contains a RING-finger domain and is alsothought to have a role in the control of cell proliferation.
