Three members of this protein family (Ikaros, Aiolos and Helios) are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors involved in the regulation oflymphocyte development. HELIOS forms homo-or hetero-dimers with other Ikaros family members, and is thought to function predominantly in early hematopoietic development.
