Rabbit polyclonal to FLT3.FMS-related tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that regulates hematopoiesis.Upon ligand binding, the receptor is activated inducing a homodimer formation in the plasmamembrane leading to autophosphorylation of the receptor. Activated FLT3 can also phosphorylateand activate multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules in pathways implicated in apoptosis, proliferationand differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Mutations that result in constitutiveactivation of this receptor are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblasticleukemia.
