TAOK2 is a multifunctional serine/threonine protein kinase that affects membrane blebbing, apoptotic body formation, DNA damage response, and the MAPK14/p38 MAPK cascade. It exhibits broad substrate specificity and can phosphorylate itself, MBP, activated MAPK8, MAP2K3, MAP2K6 and tubulin.
