Thiazole Green

One of the most sensitive dyes for detecting double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) in agarose, polyacrylamide, and qPCR is thiazole green. Although the sensitivity is lower, Thiazole Green can also be used to detect ssDNA and RNA in denaturing agarose/formaldehyde and polyacrylamide/urea gels. The nuclear specificity of thiazole green will disappear after fixation, but it can still be utilized as a green nuclear stain for all cells in living cultures.
